One game this week and it’s our last home game of the year.  Admission is free.  Hopefully, we’ll avoid the rain.

We play the Western Michigan Broncos.  Here’s the scoop on them…

Again, I’ll point out the unconventional game time of 4:05pm.  Don’t be late!

With all due respect to a team that is in the Division I, Tuesday’s contest is one we should win.  The Broncos of Western Michigan have had a tough year going 12-38 and their conference schedule hasn’t been any better at 5-19.

They have an exciting senior named Chris Lewis who seems to doing quite well.  He’s leading the Broncos in pretty much every major offensive category.  But as a team they’re last in the Mid-American Conference in ERA, second to last in batting and unfortunately for them, last place in the Western Division of the MAC.

But that’s fortunate for US.  Midweek game or not, we need a win for our last home game.

The current standings in the Big Ten

9. Illinois 9-12 .429 24-24 .500
10. Penn State 8-13 .381 21-28 .429

This past weekend spread things out a bit.  Five games separate the wheat from the chaff.  I haven’t worked out all the scenarios (I leave that to Formerly Anonymous at MGoBlog.com) but with three team tied for the coveted sixth place at 10-11 and Illinois one game back, it will take a some wacky miracle for us to squeeze in.  But hey, let’s stay positive.

Meantime, let’s kick some bronco butt.
