These are the standings as of today.  With Illinois’ loss today, we’ve moved to second spot succumbing it to the Golden Gophers of Minnesota.  With an extra loss, the Buckeyes are one-half game behind us  in third place.

Needless to say, with a win tomorrow against the Buckeyes and a Gopher loss, we will share the lead with Minnesota.

No doubt, it will all come down to the last weekend (as it always does).  A quick preview of who’s playing who next weekend among the top three:

ILLINOIS at PURDUE

IOWA at OHIO STATE

MINNESOTA at PENN STATE

Iowa is currently in last place and they’re playing in Columbus.  Which shows how important, besides the obvious, that Illinois wins tomorrow.

Interesting also that the top five are almost a lock for the tournament.  The last spot is definitely up for grabs though.  Purdue, Michigan, and Penn State will have extra incentive.  The Penn State thing is good for both Ohio State and Illinois since the Nittany Lions will be playing Minnesota next week.

Go Illinois!

One Comment:

  1. Michigan beat Minny 10-4 today. The Gophers fall to 15-5. Michigan moves to 8-13 in the league.

    Go Bucks!
