Illinois is on its way to the Lexington Regional

It’s crunch time for the Illini!

Illinois baseball is in Lexington Regional this weekend. At #3 seed, they are joined by #1 seed and host Kentucky, #2 seed Indiana State and #4 seed Western Michigan.

The schedule is set. According to FightingIllini.com, Jack Crowder is taking the hill against the Sycamores. Game time is Friday, May 31 at 6pm CT. All games in the Lexington Regional will take place at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington.

It seems every regional is tough this year but Kentucky is ranked #2 and Indiana State was ranked #20. The Sycamores were actually on the brink of hosting their own tournament until this week.

Friday starter Jack Crowder is 6-2

The good news is that Illinois has two wins against these teams this season already. They defeated Western Michigan 8-6 on March 2 and on April 30, they brutalized Indiana State 21-11 in a run rule win.
