Fighting Illini baseball announced the schedule for the 2023 season this week. Next season’s schedule consists of 48 games including 21 at home at Illinois Field.
A few things of note…
- Season opener is February 17th at the Wake Forest Tournament
- Home opener is March 14th against Indiana State
- Big Ten opener is March 24th at Nebraska
- Home Big Ten opener is March 31st against Michigan
Illinois will play Big Ten opponents Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota and Michigan State at home. They will visit Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State and Rutgers over the course of the season.
Illinois will have the chance to play non-conference teams Indiana State and Bradley twice in 2023. They will conclude their season with a non-conference game against Tennessee-Martin.
The season schedule is always in flux and may be altered. Games be added later in the off-season. And I don’t need to tell Illinois residents about Midwestern weather.
