If there is a silver lining to Illinois’ weekend, it’s that we are still one spot above highly touted Indiana who went 1-3. Keep in mind though, Indiana was playing #28 Texas Tech. That knocked the Hoosiers down from #7 to #16 in the NCBWA polls.
Minnesota is off to a 3-0 start but unlike Indiana, they weren’t playing a ranked team. They beat up on our neighbor, Northern Illinois University.
If you’re wondering, Michigan had to settle for a 7-7 tie on Sunday against Washington at the Texas State Baseball Invitational. The tie was due to a travel arrangements.
Illinois plays George Mason next on Friday at 11:00 am in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
