When we heard about the new Field Turf being laid out this summer, I thought about the previously-announced baseball training center and what the plans were for that. We hadn’t heard much about that recently.
Sure enough, there was an announcement about that last week along with a architectural rendering of the new training center. The Susan and Clint Atkins Baseball Training Center has a projected completion date of January 2022.
If all goes well, it will look something like this:
The new center promises to be state of the art and is made possible becuase of a $3 million gift by Susie Atkins.
Given the completion date, current Illini sophomores and freshmen may get a chance to enjoy the benefits of this new training center!
