Jack Yalowitz
10th round – 309th overall
Colorado Rockies
In the 10th round of MLB Draft, the Colorado Rockies chose Illini right fielder Jack Yalowitz. At the 309th pick overall, he was right pick.
This is a very solid choice for the Rockies. Yalo comes with a great resume including a great glove in right field, good speed and decent power. Last year, Jack Yalowitz earned All-Big Ten First Team honors with a .335 batting average to go along with his cannon arm.
But this is why I like Jack Yalowitz… you see that photo above? Do you see the look of determination on his face? Jack is just like that when he plays baseball whether he’s in the field, at the plate or on the base paths.
He’s a winner.
Throughout his career, Yalo batted .272 with 22 homeruns and 127 rbis.
Congratulations to Yalo!
