Now the regular season is over and the postseason can begin. That begins with the Big Ten Baseball Tournament at Target Field in Minneapolis.
As usual, the polls come out on Monday. With a two-game sweep of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Big Ten Champs Illinois (45-6-1) can only improve. The higher rank they achieve the harder it is to improve on their position. Illinois did gain a few spots particularly with a #2 ranking with Perfect Game (up from #3) while maintaining their #2 spot with Collegiate Baseball.
Overall, Illinois is ranked #5 or better in all major national polls and have improved their national RPI ranking to #10.
