Illinois players have now begun summer ball. Not surprisingly, a sizable fraction of them are headed north to the Northwoods League. Seven of the 23 Illini players playing in leagues this summer are representing teams in the NWL. In total, Illini players will be playing at nine separate summer leagues around the country.
FightingIllini.com has a press release on this but they also have a handy page with links to the teams and leagues each Illini is playing for. Make sure to check out Illini Summer Ball Central.
Illinois pitcher John Kravetz (left) is already off to a great start for the Wisconsin City Rafters. On Monday, he pitched seven scoreless innings for his second win of the young season.
Good luck this summer, Illini!
