Opening week is so much fun, don’t you think?
As the boys are on their way to Cookeville, Tennessee for their first meeting with the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech, the official weekend preview has been posted. As noted in my weekend preview, the pitching rotation will include two freshman. With senior Kevin Johnson going Friday, newbies Kevin Duchene and Nick Blackburn (right) will take the mound Saturday and Sunday respectively.
BTN broadcast and streaming schedule
The Big Ten Network has announced their broadcasting and streaming schedule for 2013. Illinois is doing something right. Illinois Field will be home field for five contests that will be made available by BTN. Two home games against Purdue, a full three-game set against Northwestern will be seen on BTN in one fashion or another. In total, thirteen Illinois Baseball games will be available.
The April 14th game against Purdue and the April 21st game at Ohio State will be aired on the Big Ten Network television. You can find the the full Big Ten Network baseball and softball schedules here.
Speaking of media, I’m told WDWS AM-1400 will start covering the games when the Big Ten season begins.
One day left! Go Illini!
