Illinois Baseball headed to Fullerton for the NCAA Regionals

Illinois now has a place to play and time to play.  The NCAA Baseball Regionals brackets have been announced.

Yesterday morning, ESPN2 took a break from their marathon of Jim Tressel news coverage to announce the NCAA Regionals selections. Here’s the scoop:

  • Illinois will be in the Fullerton Regional in Fullerton, California.
  • They will be the #4 seed in the Fullerton Regional playing host and #1 seed Cal-State Fullerton (40-15).
  • Other teams in the Fullerton Regional are #2 seed Stanford (32-20) and #3 seed Kansas State (36-23) who will also face off in the first round.

Illinois fans will have to stay up late in order to watch the Cal State Fullerton game. Game time is scheduled for 10:00pm.  Rumor has it that the game will be shown on ESPNU.

Here is the schedule for the Fullerton Regional (all times CT).
