Some photos I took today watching the Illini practice:
It was good to see #1 Illinois Baseball fan John Santas out there checking the status of the team. He says going out to the ballpark to see the team practice “makes the day that much better”. I’d have to agree. For those who don’t know John, he’s the contact person for the Dugout Club.
John told me that’s former Illini Drew Dickinson (right) and he’ll be our new volunteer assistant coach for 2011. If true, that’s great news.
It was bunting practice in the field today. One bunt after another.
Matt Dittman throws to first.
The middle infielders all got practice covering the corners.
They should be announcing the dates of the Orange and Blue World Series sometime soon. It’s usually sometime near the end of September.
