Below are all the Big Ten players picked in the first two days.  As is usual with the Big Ten, catchers are heavily represented.  Five backstops were drafted.

Some quick thoughts:

• Six catchers were drafted from the Big Ten
• Not too surprisingly, a higher concentration of MLB teams in the Midwest were picking Big Ten players.  Half (13 of 26) went to either Minnesota, Cincinnati, Milwaukee or the two Chicago teams.
• Every Big Ten team had someone drafted except Illinois.

Illinois did not have any current player drafted but two of our recruited players were picked.  Reid Roper and Kelly Norris-Jones were deemed worthy by MLB teams. 

Roper was chosen in the 29th round (884th overall) by the Atlanta Braves.  Roper is a shortstop.  Norris-Jones, a catcher from British Columbia, was picked in the 50th round (1506th overall) by the Toronto Blue Jays.
