Evansville is pretty much middle of the pack in the Missouri Valley Conference. Despite their 7-11 conference record, they actually have won more they have lost with a 24-23 overall record. Stat-wise, they are pretty much hover around the middle, seventh in hitting, fifth in pitching.
They have the top base stealer in the MVC in Jim Viscomi who has 23 thefts.
One more unrelated note: Ohio State just lost to Louisville 21-5. I don’t know if that bodes well for the Illini’s series with them this weekend (or if it has any bearing at all) but I thought it was worth mentioning.
