In today’s tournament matchup between Indiana and Purdue, there’s really not much to say except that Eric Arnett showed up, pitched, and won.
Arnett (above) won his twelfth game of 2009 by shutting out the Boilermakers for seven innings and struck out 10 batters in the process. He only allowed four hits and one walk.
The bulk of Indiana’s offense came in the fifth inning when they put five runners across the plate. Michael Earley (above right with Chris Hervey) and Brian Lambert both hit key rbi doubles in that inning.
Purdue will now face first round loser Michigan State tomorrow at 12:05pm to see who gets to go home and who gets to continue on. Indiana, being a higher seed than Illinois, will face Minnesota at 3:35pm tomorrow.
