Okay, considering we were playing the last place team in the Missouri Valley Conference, that was awfully difficult. We came out on top 11-9 but it was a rollercoaster battle with Bradley coming back from a 7-2 deficit to tie it 7-7. Even when Illinois had it wrapped up 11-7 in the top of the ninth, they scored two more to make it interesting.
Thank goodness for Brandon Wikoff. He hit for the cycle tonight. That’s the first time an Illini player has done that since Sean Mulligan did it 19 years ago. For the record, Wikoff was 4 for 5 with 4 rbis and 3 runs.
It’s late so I’m going to post a few photos and call it a night. See the rest of them at the Photo Gallery.
Chris Montgomery made the most of his start by hitting a two run double…
…scoring Pete Cappetta and Matt Dittman
Two hits, two runs and a stolen base for Joe Bonadonna
Aaron Martin got the win in relief after pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings.
