Some quick news links from around the Big Ten baseball world

-Brian from Big Ten Hardball wraps up the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge and chose his All-Weekend Team.  Brandon Wikoff and Dom Altobelli made first team.  Aaron Johnson made honorable mention.

-Yes, the Big Ten did reign supreme in the Challenge.  They won 15 of the 24 games between the two conferences.

University of Michigan will retire Jim Abbott’s number.  He was named 1998 Big Ten male athlete of the year and racked up 26 wins with a 3.04 ERA.  He is only the fifth member in UM’s baseball history to his number retired.

-Speaking of UM, Big Ten Player of the Week is Michigan’s OF Nick Urban.  Pitcher of the Week award was shared between Eric Jokisch of Northwestern (a repeat winner… he did it in May 2008) and Drew Rucinski of the Buckeyes.
